In July this year, Nippon Steel Engineering Corporation (President: Makoto Haya) consecutively won the bid for the Stave Cooler for No.3 Blast Furnace from China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan and for No.1 Blast Furnace from ILVA, Italy.
Following the existing Stave Cooler for the No.3 Blast Furnace, the Plant & Machinery Division (Director: Masato Agui) of Nippon Steel Engineering (NSC-ENG) has received the order from CSC, this time. And also starting from the initial order in 1973, NSC-ENG has received the tenth order from ILVA, this time. The previous performance of the existing Stave Cooler being highly appreciated by both companies, NSC-ENG has successfully beaten the competition with overseas competitors and consecutively received these two orders.
Stave Cooler is a metallic plate, which by attachment to a blast furnace wall, cools and protects the furnace body. By introducing Stave Cooler, the sustainability of the furnace body improves and therefore the interval between revamping/repairing of the Blast Furnace will be extended. NSC-ENG Stave Cooler has uniqueness in its serpentine shape of the cooling pipe, which enables the high cooling efficiency.
So far, NSC-ENG has received and implemented almost a sum total of 130 orders from customers all over the world, including Asia, Europe, Africa, South and Central America etc. NSC-ENG will continue to focus on the Blast Furnace equipment business in the overseas market.
