In order to ensure wide recognition of the new group brand and to seek the development of unity within the group, the trade name of each of the group operating companies that will undertake the respective business segments of NIPPON STEEL & SUMITOMO METAL CORPORATION, the new group company scheduled to be formed on October 1, 2012, will be changed as set forth below.
The change of the trade names is conditional on the completion of the business integration of Nippon Steel Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. (scheduled for October 1, 2012) and on approval at the shareholders' meeting of each group company.
