NIPPON STEEL & SUMIKIN ENGINEERING CO., LTD. (Representative Director and President: Shinichi Fujiwara; Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter, "NSENGI") is proud to announce the 20th anniversary of its affiliate company in the Philippines, PNS CONSTRUCTION, INC. (hereinafter, "PNS"). Participants in the anniversary party held in Manila on September 20 included Philippines government officials like Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi, Department of Energy, and Japanese government officials like Kazuhide Ishikawa, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of the Philippines, as well as corporate officials from both countries. NSENGI President Fujiwara gave the opening remarks, and PNS President Archelez Dumandan presented on the NSENGI group's projects in the Philippines.
PNS was set up in 1997 as a building construction/steel structures field office for NIPPON STEEL CORPORATION (currently NIPPON STEEL & SUMITOMO METAL CORPORATION), in the midst of the rapid construction of skyscrapers in Manila and other major cities. Since then, the company has served as a base for the NSENGI group's projects in the Philippines, engaging in market development, project implementation, and projects for social/industrial infrastructure like roads, harbors, rivers, and airports. PNS is also expected to branch out into the environment/energy fields in the future.
In the five-year vision, the "Strategy 2020" NSENGI has established "Our Vision" to be "Global x Local." Since its establishment, PNS has maintained a global perspective, answered to the needs of its clients, and engaged in projects that are based in local areas. In the coming years, PNS will work to strengthen the local business structure, focusing mainly on the international staff, and continue to support the rapid evelopment of the Philippines.
