NIPPON STEEL & SUMIKIN ENGINEERING (Shinichi FUJIWARA, President,‘NSENGI’) Environmental Solution Division (Ryosuke YAMADA, Head of Environmental Solution Division) is pleased to announce that its 100% subsidiary company, Steinmüller Babcock Environment GmbH, Germany (Hiroshi MURAKAMI, Managing Director,‘SBENG’), was awarded The Low Carbon Model Company of the Year 2015 in China.
This award, with the support of various ministries, universities, research groups, and NGOs, was founded in 2010 (6th Anniversary this year) by a Chinese independent newspaper The Economic Observer, to honour companies that contribute to China's reduction of CO2 with advanced and state of the art technologies. Including the 12 companies awarded this year, SBE's technology is so far the only Waste to Energy (WtE) technology to be awarded with this prize.
The judges recognized SBE's sustainable concept of Green House Gas reduction made possible with its advanced WtE core technologies and Flue Gas Treatment facilities, utilized in existing reference in Hefei (合肥) (start-up 2012, capacity 1,000 t/d), a plant awarded in a joint effort with Zhejiang Feida Environmental Science & Technology Co., Ltd (浙江菲達環保科技有限公司). Hefei is only one of many projects in China which SBE is involved in, through its subsidiary company in Shanghai.
NSENGI, together with its subsidiary SBENG, will continue its WtE business in China, a country with an expanding market with growing needs for the mitigation of environmental risk and realization of a low carbon society.
