NS-OG Energy Solutions (Thailand) Integrates Osaka Gas (Thailand), Enhancing Energy Service Operations

Nippon Steel Engineering Co., Ltd. (President: Yukito Ishiwa, Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as "NSE") and Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. (President: Masataka Fujiwara; Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka; hereinafter referred to as "OG") are pleased to announce that NS-OG Energy Solutions (Thailand) Ltd. (“NSET”)—a joint venture focused on on-site energy solutions and jointly owned by NSE and OG—acquired the entirety of OG's ownership interest in Osaka Gas (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (“OGT”),1 which represents 49% of OGT's total outstanding shares. As a result of this transaction, OGT—an energy solutions provider specializing in converting fuel to natural gas—became a consolidated subsidiary of NSET as of May 30, 2025. 2

This integration of OGT represents a strategic move by NSET to streamline the entire operations and strengthen energy supply capabilities in Thailand. With its enhanced energy service operations, NSET is now positioned to offer a broader range of innovative solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of its customers. NSET will focus on developing additional energy-saving projects for existing clients of OGT while also exploring the potential for expanding the sale of biogas and other low-carbon energy products produced by the Daigas Group. 3

About NSET

NSET specializes in providing on-site energy solutions for large Japanese factories in Thailand, delivering electricity and heat through combined heat and power (CHP) units that utilize natural gas and biomass fuels. Committed to advancing a sustainable society, NSET supports its customers in achieving a low-carbon future with environmentally friendly and cost-effective energy solutions, drawing on its expertise in engineering and operational management of high-efficiency energy supply plants.

About OGT

OGT is dedicated to facilitating the transition of factories from traditional fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to natural gas, particularly in regions served by gas pipelines extended from nearby networks.4 For areas lacking access to gas networks, OGT offers alternatives, such as compressed natural gas (CNG) 5 and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to reduce operational costs and lower CO2 emissions. Additionally, the company is advancing its heat supply business by offering services that include the installation of boilers, burners, and other essential equipment.

  • 1 OG invested in OGT through Osaka Gas Singapore Pte. Ltd. (President: Ryosuke Kobayshi), a wholly owned subsidiary of OG.
  • 2 OGT plans to change its company name by May 30, 2026.
  • 3 The group brand name of Osaka Gas.
  • 4 The heat supply business utilizing piped gas is operated by OGP Energy Solutions Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of OGT and a joint venture with PTT Public Company Limited—Thailand’s leading natural gas provider.
  • 5 Natural gas is compressed and stored in containers, enabling supply to regions where gas pipeline expansion is not feasible.
