Award of Contract for New Central Processing Platform (CPP) Construction for Valeura Energy (Thailand) Ltd.
Thai Nippon Steel Engineering & Construction Corporation, Ltd. (President and CEO: Masaya Watanabe, hereinafter "TNS"), a consolidated subsidiary of Nippon Steel Engineering Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Yukito Ishiwa, Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "NSE"), is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract from Valeura Energy (Thailand) Ltd. (hereinafter "VET") for the construction of a new-build central processing platform (hereinafter "CPP") for oil production in the Wassana field in the Gulf of Thailand.
VET produces predominantly oil with associated gas from several fields in the Gulf of Thailand, and this project involves the construction of a new-build CPP with 24 well slots in the Wassana field. Following the FEED work, TNS has been awarded a contract to carry out engineering, procurement, fabrication and commissioning work of the facilities.
Production from the CPP is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027, and oil output from the field is expected to increase to 10,000 barrels per day in the second half of 2027.
In addition, the CPP is being designed to accommodate the tie-in of potential additional production facilities (wellhead platforms) which may be built and connected to the CPP in the future.
TNS has been contracted by VET and its predecessor companies for many years for the construction of similar facilities (Nong Yao field, completed in 2015) as well as maintenance & modification work for the existing production facilities in the Gulf of Thailand. TNS's extensive track record and ability to provide integrated EPC services have earned high praise and trust, leading to award of this contract.
